July 2022 News
Fall is right around the corner, which means it’s time to tune up your bows, test out new gear and start scouting! It’s because of members like you, this club is able to provide the community with the Dennis Hansen Archery range where bowhunters can grow into accurate, ethical shooters. We hope you and your hunting buddies are able to take advantage of the range this summer as you prepare for the coming seasons. While you’re out there, tell your friends about our club and invite them to become a member. This range would not exist without the support of our members. So thank you for your investment.
Announcements:
Fall Tune-up 3D Shoot
We hope to see you at our Fall Tune-up 3D Shoot on July 30th. As always, registration begins at 9:00am, with a shotgun start at 10:00am. Lunch will be served after the first round of 20 targets. After lunch, shooters go back out to shoot another 20 targets. Shoots typically end around 2-3pm.
*We welcome shooters to score themselves and post their scores on the white board on the side of the shed! A first and second place winner will be selected from each division and receive a Scheels gift card! But please stick around if you post your score. If you are not present when we announce the winners, you will not receive the gift card, and it will go to the next lower score.
Youth Bow Donations
Do any of you have old youth bows that you’d be willing to donate to kids who would use them? If so, please bring any youth bows that are no longer in use to our July 30th Fall Tune-up and we’ll find them a new home. When I was a teenager, I was given a used 51# recurve. I could hardly shoot a dozen arrows with it, and though it was a seed that planted a love for archery… it brought with it all sorts of bad shooting habits! That said, I fully understand the value of a properly sized Youth Bow! Your generosity may help a kid experience the joy of archery and set him/her up for future bowhunting success! Please consider donating your old youth bows to a child who might fall in love with the sport.
See you out at the range,
Matt Short – BTB President
