May 2023 News

Have you been out to the range lately? Every time I go out, I bump into new people who know nothing about our club but LOVE the range! I'm not troubled by this, and happily tell them about Big Thompson Bowhunters and point them toward the website. But this range truly would not exist without the members who have helped build it and help us each year maintain it! To those of you who have contributed, Thank you! Northern Colorado archers and bowhunters are truly blessed to have this free public range.

Whether you've been chasing them with a stick and string or a shotgun, turkey hunting is a ton of fun! If you've been out Turkey hunting this month, we'd love to hear about your adventures!!! Please share photos to our Facebook page or email them to us by replying to this newsletter! Congratulations to Jeff, Gage, Axel and Silas on your harvests!

Announcements:

Range Workday

This year's Range Workday will be on May 13th beginning at 8am. Please let us know if you're able to join us, this way we can plan for how many people we'll need to feed! We will be spreading out new pea gravel, repairing targets, blinds, elevated stands as well as repainting range markers and a variety of other tasks. If you join us, please bring RAKES, gloves and sunscreen. We will serve a simple BBQ lunch to anyone who comes and enjoy a bit of fun shooting afterwards. So bring your bow. We look forward to a day of building friendships and maintaining this awesome range with you!

2023 BTB 3D Shoot Dates

Our next 3D archery shoot is only two weeks away. We hope to see you there! Here are the remaining shoots for this year: May 20th, July 29th (Fall Tune-up). As always, registration begins at 9:00am, with a shotgun start at 10:00am. Lunch will be served after the first round of 20 targets. After lunch, shooters go back out to shoot another 20 targets. Shoots typically end around 2-3pm.

Milk Jugs Needed

We are in need of jugs for the broad head lane. If you have any laying around, please rinse them out thoroughly and bring them to the next 3D shoot. We will collect them and store them for future use. Thanks!

At Big Thompson Bowhunters we know that all bowhunters want to be accurate, ethical shooters who can consistently harvest each year. However, in order to do that, you need a safe place to practice good shooting technique in challenging, life-like hunting scenarios. This is why, for over 40 years the members of the Big Thompson Bowhunters have provided archers with a place where they can grow into the accurate, effective bowhunter they've dreamed of being.
