Dennis Hansen’s Celebration of Life

It is with a heavy heart that we let you know of the passing of our beloved Range Director, Dennis Hansen. After 6 weeks of battling an unidentified condition, Dennis passed away on Sunday, March 12th at the age of 75.

Dennis was a lot of things to a lot of people – but the one word that can truly sum him up is ‘GIVING’. Dennis was giving of his time, his experience, his compassion, his support, his profound respect for nature, and his love of family, God, and country. To see Dennis laugh was a gift unto itself. There is no way to measure the countless hours he has devoted to the archery range, the Big Thompson Bowhunters club, its members, and the bowhunting community at large. Dennis was a man of integrity – his word binding and his handshake strong and genuine. Dennis was one of a kind - and much like his cherished flip-phone, they just don’t make ‘em like that anymore.

In honor of Dennis and to celebrate a life well lived and well loved, his wife Deena, and two sons Mike and Matt invite you out to the archery range on Saturday, April 1st from 11:00 – 1:00 for a Celebration of Life. Dennis would get a chuckle, complete with that little sideways grin of his, that it will be April Fool’s Day. We’ll have a few of the 3D targets out, so bring your bows if you got ‘em. We’ll serve a hot lunch of our usual burgers, brats, and dogs for what Dennis often said was the ‘best lunch in town’! In order to accommodate everyone, the family asks that you please RSVP your attendance. You can do so by clicking the button below, then selecting "YES" at the bottom of the page that opens. This will allow you to RSVP for the quantity in your party.

Here are words that Dennis had posted above his desk at home… seems fitting.

“When you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It’s only painful & difficult for others. The same applies when you are stupid.”
