May 2022 News

Hello Big Thompson Bowhunters,

Last month’s shoot was Easter weekend, and Dennis put together a fun little Easter Egg hunt for the kiddos! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter celebrating with your families. It was great to see the number of families who came out to shoot with us that day! We also hope you are having a fun and successful turkey hunting season! I’ve already heard stories from club members harvesting and would love to hear more! Please share photos from your hunts on the club’s Facebook Page! We are a community of sportsmen and women who enjoy celebrating each other’s adventures, struggles and successes! We look forward to hearing yours.

2022 Range Workday

Our amazing Range Director does a great job of upkeeping the range throughout the year! However, once a year we get together to help him with some of the bigger tasks like changing backstops, strengthening structures or simply cleaning the surrounding facility. Join us this month on May 7th, starting at 8am for our Range Workday. We will provide a simple BBQ lunch for everyone who comes to help and maybe even have a bit of fun shooting when the work is done. So bring your bow.

2022 3D SHOOTS

We hope to see you at this month’s 3D shoot on May 21st.  As always, registration begins at 9:00am, with a shotgun start at 10:00am. Lunch will be served after the first round of 20 targets. After lunch, shooters go back out to shoot another 20 targets. Shoots typically end around 2-3pm.

*We welcome shooters to score themselves and post their scores on the white board on the side of the shed! A first and second place winner will be selected from each division and receive a Scheels gift card! But please stick around if you post your score. If you are not present when we announce the winners, you will not receive the gift card, and it will go to the next lower score.

We look forward to seeing you out at the range! If you haven’t seen the new website yet, jump on over to it and share it with your hunting buddies: bigthompsonbowhutners.org. You can now help us continue to maintain this incredible public resource for generations to come by paying for your memberships online!

All the best,

Matt Short – BTB President
