January 2022 News

We hope your holidays were filled with family, friends, and the joy of a New Year!

BOARD MEMBERS
The BTB has been actively seeking volunteers and individuals to fill vacant board positions. After we put the word out, several folks showed interest and attended the last board meeting in December. The following individuals volunteered to fill several positions. They are as follows:

  • Matt Short – President

  • Paul Purkey – Vice President

  • Mike Lamfers – Secretary/Newsletter

  • Rick Evans – Treasurer

  • Craig Keeton – Memberships/Renewals Jeff Carley – Grant Applications

The club will be voting on filling these positions at our annual banquet - the Big Game Feast, Saturday, February 26, 2022. The folks mentioned above are planning to be present at the banquet so you will have an opportunity to meet them. This is not finalized so if you are interested in one of these positions you can nominate yourself or someone else before or at the Big Game Feast. Rest assured, Dennis, Jenean, and Matt Hansen will be present if you have any questions and will remain a resource to anyone joining the board going forward.

BIG GAME FEAST – BTB ANNUAL BANQUET
As mentioned above the Big Game Feast, will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Colorado Youth Outdoor facility located at 4927 East County Road 36 in Fort Collins. The doors will open at 4:00 pm, with dinner starting at 5:00 pm. Please bring a main dish, side or dessert, large enough to feed 6 or more.

And with another year of great raffle prizes lined up – don’t forget to bring plenty of cash or that flashy new credit card! We’ll have raffle items big and small, for all ages. This is our biggest event of the year and we’re excited to have everyone get together in person for good grub, storytelling, picture sharing, and fun!

BTB MEMBERSHIPS
Currently, the club's annual membership fee is a flat $30 - whether you're a family of 5 or a single member. Big Thompson Bowhunters remains one of the least expensive bow clubs in the state. Much like many of you and our business partners, the global economy has had an impact on the club’s budget.

Effective January 01, 2022, the BTB dues will be $30 for a single member and will increase to $50 to cover a family (we define a family as 2 adults and children under the age of 18, living in the same household). There are two main reasons for this change.
1. The cost of maintaining the range has increased over the last two years.
2. The club's insurance has increased and is structured based on the number of families vs. the number of single memberships.

As you know, it’s been several years since we’ve made any change to club dues or 3-D shoot fees. We gave this a tremendous amount of thought and consideration, and truly appreciate your understanding in this matter.

2022 3D SHOOTS
UPDATE: To avoid conflict with a CBA event, our FIRST 3D SHOOT of 2022 will now take place on SATURDAY, MARCH 26^th - please be sure to update/change/mark your calendars for 3/26/2022!

As usual, registration begins at 9:00 am, with a shotgun start at 10:00 am.

Last, our beloved Range Director, Dennis Hansen, had emergency surgery on Monday, Jan.10th after falling from a ladder while at work. Word has it he's got a new hip! Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he heals.

Regards,
Jenean and Matt Hansen
